As a TAVtech AI Fellow, I spent four weeks in winter 2017 working and studying at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Tel Aviv, Israel. Immersed in the Israeli tech entrepreneurship landscape, I learned from some of the most innovative and successful entrepreneurs in the world. The focus of the fellowship was to develop strategies for employing tech to fight against some of the biggest social issues of our day, from supply chain analysis for underserved communities to natural disaster resource management. The program focused both on algorithm design as well as market analytics, scalability, and start up finance. The program culminated with a hackathon - using tech for social good. My team built an application to predict social and political trends via Twitter activity. I also built an application to classify dog breeds in images and an image search function.
